Floridia Cheese was founded by Mauro Montalto when he arrived in Australia in 1952 bringing from Italy specialized cheese making skills handed down by his forefathers over many generations.

Importantly, Floridia complies with all relevant Australian and International food standards and holds current Halal certification.

Rather than sell through national supermarket chains in the Australian domestic market
Floridia prefers to position its retail products in independently owned stores and traditional delicatessens where the brand is very well respected and supported.
The food service sector is where Floridia really excels - supplying the Pizza trade, cafes, restaurants and hotels.

Floridia Cheese is well located in close proximity to Melbourne's International airport located at Tullamarine for airfreight dispatch of product to its export customers and the Port of Melbourne for sea shipment to export markets.
" We export a smaller volume of our cheese products to overseas customers by airfreight as a full load or consolidated with other compatible goods. Dry ice and special insulation maintains the appropriate temperature for delicate cheese items such as Ricotta which are received by customers in a matter of hours from delivery to designated forwarders by Floridia transport.
Floridia is happy to work with Australian Based Exporters ( ABE's ) to form unitized loads together with other compatible food stuffs.
The greater volume of Floridia’s exports is shipped in 20 foot reefer containers either chilled or frozen direct to customers throughout South East Asia and North Asia. Our customer universe also extends to the Indian Ocean and we are developing special labeling for markets in the Middle East.
Floridia prefers to support a single importer/distributor in each market area selected as a leading supplier to the retail and food service business sectors.

Generally speaking Floridia warrants a shelf life between 6 and 12 months from date of manufacture subject to correct conditions during shipment, storage and distribution.
Packaging - our cheese products are packaged in vacuum packed Cryovac bags within export grade cardboard cartons.
Floridia is fully approved by AQIS, Dairy Food Safety Victoria and holds current Halal accreditation. Product specifications and technical information is available on request and Floridia is able to provide all of the usual export documentation requirements.
